6 Energy Foods that You Should Incorporate in Your Diet

Men have different energy requirements than women and that is mainly because of the way they’re built. Generally, men do more strenuous activities than women which is why their energy needs are slightly different.

There are supplements for men out there that can help provide energy, but it is still recommended that you eat the right foods to ensure that you get sustainable energy all throughout the day.

In this article, I will talk about some known energy foods that you should incorporate in your diet.

Eggs

I don’t know about you, but I always consume eggs every day. Do not follow the misconception that you shouldn’t eat more than 3 whole eggs a day. In fact, I consume 4 eggs in total every single day and I’ve been more energetic ever since.

Eggs are rich in protein and B-vitamins which are known to give you sustainable energy. Aside from that, it also has some calcium and vitamin D that will help strengthen your bones, especially when you engage in strenuous workouts.

If you want to be on the safe side, just consume 2-3 whole eggs a day.

Edamame

Although not as popular as Broccoli, Edamame is actually a pretty good vegetable to add to your diet. It is loaded with copper, phosphorus, and B-vitamins and the vegetable itself is quite delicious.

For those of you who do not know, B-vitamins are known to help breakdown carbs into glucose- which is the primary energy source for the body.

If you frequently workout in the gym, I strongly suggest that you add some salt to your edamame so that you can also replenish your electrolytes as well.

Water

People who go to the gym to build muscle are often told to deliberately dehydrate themselves in order for their muscles to “pop out” even more. But that is just bad advice.

You see, dehydration can lead to a whole host of problems. Sure, it can help let your muscles look like they’re going to pop out (making it more appealing to some), but is it really worth it? I mean, dehydration can lead to poor mental and physical performance and may also lead to death (in more severe cases) as well.

Your body provides you with some indicators that will help you know when you should drink water. Your thirst is one of them. If you are thirsty, be sure to drink a glass or two of water to help quench it.

Otherwise, drink 8-10 glasses or roughly 2 liters of water every day to ensure that you not only rid your body of toxic chemicals but also give you more energy as a result too.

Quinoa

There is a reason why Quinoa is deemed as a superfood. First, it contains loads of different nutrients that your body needs. We are talking about carbs, protein, as well as nutrients such as methionine, lysine, and cysteine. It is also rich in magnesium, folate, and phosphorus for extra energy levels as well.

Goji Berries

Men who are suffering from erectile dysfunction would want to take in some Goji berries. Aside from the fact that it helps promote energy levels, it also helps improve a man’s libido too.

Guarana

If you look at new brands of energy drinks, you might come across an ingredient known as Guarana. Guarana is rich in caffeine which is a stimulant that probably everyone knows already. But, the problem with caffeine is that it does have its side effects.

The good thing about Guarana is that aside from its rich caffeine content, it also contains theobromine and theophylline as well- both of which can help mitigate the negative effects of caffeine.
